THE BIG BANG THEORY

"SHOOTING STAR."

scene 1.            Raj and  two friends and coworkers visit an observatory and are at the same time excited and fascinated as they approach on foot from where they parked the car.

scene 2.             Observatory cafeteria. There is a range of space themed foods on the menu.

                             Raj is scanning the large board menu on the wall, and the ready prepared dishes on the buffet.

observatory person 1:    Well we thought you'd like the selection.

(hosts)

Raj:                     Its delightful.

                            Anything with a women from Venus theme?

host 1.                No. But we have a Pluto pups selection and a Martian face pie.

Raj:                     Cool.

Raj friend 1:      How's it going with the faces on Mars anyway?

host 1:                 Still there……… after all this time.

Raj friend 2:       Well, I guess there's no place like home. (ironic reference to the above retort.)

host 1:                 And there's the sun cake. (Pointing to a round cake with a bright yellow icing), 

                            and finally the comet and meteorite biscuits - all shapes and sizes for the latter.

Raj friend 2:      Of course.

scene 3:             Raj and friends with two observatory personnel from previous scene, in the Observatoy at night.

                             Then pic of the night sky as seen through the lens of the telescope.

Raj friend 1:        Look at that. Its incredible.

Raj friend 2:        Look at those shooting stars.

host 2:                  Look at all the ufo activity.

Raj:                       Huh?

host 1:                  Sure. They're out there.

                               they're just not in here (points to his head) in the public mind.

Raj:                        Hmm.

host 2:                    About half of the population believes but its not a topic the mass media talks about.

Raj:                        Looks like they are everywhere. (points of light darting all over the place)

                                I think I would like to keep my feet on Terra Firma. Just saying.

scene 4.                 3 on their way home in the car discussing the visit.

Raj friend 2:          Curiouser and curiouser

Raj:                          What do you mean?

Raj friend 1:            You mean about the ufo's

Raj friend 2:            Nah, everyone knows about that. Its just that the universe seems so stable. 

                                  Not the offshoot of a BIG BANG.

RAJ:                          Wash your mouth!

scene 5.                    Raj and Howard and Leonard at Leonard's apartment.

Howard:                     So where's Penny tonight?

Leonard:                    Oh, she's working.

                                    Sheldon enters as he says this:

Sheldon:                    Well now, lets not dramatize everything.

                                     Work is me using my brain at full capacity.

Leonard:                     What about your mouth?

Sheldon:                     (Thinks for a second)  Thats play.

                                     Sort of like what Penny does, but less……work.

Leonard:                    Gotcha!

sheldon:                     Trouble Leonard.

Raj:                             Well we had an interesting time - playing - at the Observatory.

Sheldon:                    No Raj, thats work.

Raj:                             Not for us. Just observing.

Howard:                      An Observatory. Now thats a great piece of engineering WORK.

                                     What was it you do again Sheldon?

Sheldon:                     yeah, right.

                                      Penny walks in.

Penny:                         Hi guys. Work today was a real killer.

                                      Except for the tips. 

                                      The boys laugh.

Penny:                        Whats so funny.

                                    Oh yeah, the tip thingy.

Howard:                     No actually it was the work thingy.

                                    Well I'd best be leaving. Bernadette is probably wondering where her wandering husband is tonight.

Leonard:                   Bye Howard.

Raj:                             Yes, bye Howard

sheldon:                      Bye Howard.

Penny:                        Bye Howard.

                                    Howard leaves.

                                    Penny gives Leonard a quick kiss on the lips.

                                     They sit down to some food Penny has brought from the restaurant.

Penny:                         Now who's springing the food, huh?

Leonard:                      How was your day?

Penny:                           well Leonard, Nimoy came in again.

sheldon:                       what?

Penny:                          Joking. We had a full house including a band who were followed in by about 20 groupies. None of whom wanted to tip very much.

                                        but we got an impromptu concert which was fun.

Raj:                                Rock?

Penny:                           No, swing band.

Raj:                                 With groupies?

Penny:                            Yeah, well they were quite old.

sheldon:                          Now thats what i call a faithful fan base.

                                          Wasn't swing a 30's phenomenon?

Leonard:                           Still popular today.

Penny:                               And they all make whoopee!

scene 6. final scene.      Penny and Leonard in Penny's flat. getting ready for bed.

Penny:                              What the heck, lets put on some swing music.

                                            (Puts a record on a gramophone)

                                            Lets dance Leonard.

                                           Penny and Leonard dance beautifully in swing style, stunning the real live audience both in the studio and at home.
