Connecting the dots, transparently.

In these last days the Bible opens out like a flower, and we see the meaning, coherently, simply and prosaically, so that we can understand the times we are living in, and act accordingly.

"Rumours of War."

If you can't defeat a country militarily, you take it down psychologically.

People have limited resistance to persistent pressure, especially when it comes to a perception of an impending attack, which is deliberately prolonged, to defeat the civilian population and place terrible stress and pressure on the military; at the same time driving a wedge between the government of the day and those of the civilian population who somehow think it is all their fault.

Hence the Bible is not simply spreading rumours, as it appears at first glance, but is describing the second kind of warfare just as deadly, and just as destructive as the first, when it comes to the human spirit.
