Several years in LA, followed by several more overseas, once I had left the CIA and now several in New York, I decided I wanted to retire to the peaceful climes of the south western state of New Mexico.

This was about as far away from Uncle Sam you could get without actually leaving the country.

I made my home in the Sangre de Christos mountains. Again I lived in a self-sufficient manner, and married. A mountain girl, and this one lasted, with four children.
