In Search of Diamonds

the depth ridden, arch vaulted cavern
took their whispers echoing exagerations
of beginning syllables and ending in symbols
of hollowness
touche
cried the muse
two today
replied the cavern
lifting themselves without effort
they floated to a fountain

poetry was invented by seashells
took the course of a horse
with wings
sailed the moat
surrounding humanity
where there is no boat
cept in sanity
and said

clear as crystal
nay much clearer
hard as steel
nay much harder
is the diamond
cut to perfection
with tender affection
to bedazzle
to bejewel
a fool
